Colter Cabin FAQ
Your questions, answered!
Wydaho is the somewhat fanciful name locals have given to this beautiful slice of the Tetons. Alta, WY is a small town in Wyoming that is essentially landlocked from the rest of the state by the mountains. Alta can only be accessed by road through Idaho. While our cabins are in Idaho, the Wyoming state line is only a few hundred yards further down the county road. State Line Road runs north-south along the border and is the road we use to access both the National Forest and Grand Targhee ski area. Spend some time here and you’ll come to appreciate how Wydaho reflects the best of both states!
No. We regularly block off time for family and friends to use Colter Cabin throughout the year. That means we keep the kitchen fully stocked, the firewood piled up, and the heat cranking. We regularly practice being u0022our own guests,u0022 which means you’ll always find Colter Cabin ready to go!
While both cabins are located on the same 6-acre property, they are quite a distance from each other. Colter Cabin is at the lower end of the property near the county road, but is protected from road noise by aspen trees and the large garage. Horseshoe Cabin is tucked up in the woods near the top of the property, and is accessed via a private driveway. The two cabins are separated by acres of trees and open fields.
