Yes, when dates line up. Together the cabins sleep up to 9 guests. Horseshoe Cabin has limited availability, so send us your dates through the contact page and we’ll check both calendars.
The Cabins
Colter Cabin sleeps up to 4 guests. The upstairs main bedroom has a four-poster queen bed with an en suite bath, and the second bedroom (which doubles as a den) has a twin daybed plus an extra twin mattress that can be set up on the floor.
Horseshoe Cabin has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms and sleeps up to 5 guests, including a queen bedroom, full bedroom, and the third bedroom offers folding futons.
It’s one of our favorite uses for it! Colter Cabin has hosted many honeymoons and anniversaries, and even an elopement. Couples love the privacy, the fireplace, and sunsets from the upstairs balcony.
Horseshoe Cabin is not a full-time rental. We block off much of the year for family and friends, so only select dates open up for guests. If the calendar below doesn’t show what you need, take a look at Colter Cabin on the same property.
Not quite. We sometimes block off time for family and friends to use Colter Cabin throughout the year. That means we keep the kitchen fully stocked, the firewood piled up and the heat cranking. We regularly practice being “our own guests,” which means you’ll always find Colter Cabin ready to go!
The Area
Wydaho is the somewhat fanciful name locals have given to this beautiful slice of the Tetons. Alta, Wyoming is a small town that is essentially landlocked from the rest of the state by the mountains and can only be reached by road through Idaho. Our cabins are in Idaho, but the Wyoming state line is only a few hundred yards down the county road. State Line Road runs north-south along the border and is the road we use to reach both the National Forest and Grand Targhee ski area.
The cabins are 9 miles (about 15 minutes) from downtown Driggs and 13 miles from Grand Targhee ski and summer resort. Jackson and Grand Teton National Park are about an hour away, and the West entrance of Yellowstone is about 90 minutes (97 miles). Guests often say the scenic drive is part of the fun, and there’s plenty of uncrowded hiking and fishing right here in Teton Valley.
Idaho Falls and Jackson airports are both about 75 minutes away.
In summer: kayaking and floating the Teton and Snake Rivers, mountain biking in the Big Hole Mountains, fly-fishing on Leigh Creek, the Teton River and Henry’s Fork, and hiking in the Jedediah Smith Wilderness. In winter: powder skiing at Grand Targhee, a trip over the pass to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, and cross-country skiing or snowshoeing right out the front door.
